…time for a change – my single-subject blogs lost their allure, (and have long since been excised from the ‘net), so here we are – gonna publish a ‘free-range’ blog instead!
First question, where on earth did the title come from? I can’t take credit, though I will be forever grateful to the Reddit poster who characterized their modest vinyl record collection as “all heat, no junk” when asking about the do’s and don’ts of selling this collection at a record fair some four years ago! Respect, my man, respect.
When I saw that phrase, I swooned – it was perfect – modern, punchy, hews to the IYNYN ethos, and, most importantly, could be applied to a wide range of topics I’d be interested in writing about. Five minutes on a laptop, (plus $12.95 USD), and I’d secured the domain name.
Now comes the hard part – having to live up to “...all heat, no junk…“. Onward!
